We will start from Mala Strana, the Lesser Town, the oldest of the five former cities that now form the historic center of Prague. The artists and craftsmen who worked for the kings of Bohemia and the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire lived in this labyrinth of alleys that rises towards the Castle Hill. Many streets and alleys in this district have retained their magical and authentic atmosphere, so much so that they still remain an attractive place for local artists.
Going up Via Nerudova we will reach the Castle which with its imposing silhouette has dominated the city for over a thousand years. Seat of the Kingdom of Bohemia, of the Holy Roman Empire and today the seat of the Presidency of the Republic, it has always played a central role in national history and beyond. Every emperor, king, prince or queen who lived in the castle has left their mark, giving it a unique physiognomy of its kind.
We will stroll through its courtyards and show you the palaces that form this unique citadel, the Cathedral of San Vito and the Golden Lane, where the alchemists of Emperor Rudolf II are said to have lived. In this tour you will be transported on a journey between history and mystery in which we will tell you about the golden age of Charles IV, the mysterious one of Rudolf II, the tumultuous one of the 30 Years War up to the communist period, the Beatles and to contemporary artists such as David Cerny.
