Full description of the tour
Morning: Wenceslas Square - Old Town - Astronomical Clock - Jewish Quarter - Clementinum - Charles Bridge
Our tour in the historic center of Prague on the right bank of the Vltava will start from Wenceslas Square, the immense boulevard, the nucleus of the New Town and symbol of Czech economic revival. Walking in the direction of the Old City we will pass through the Lucerne Passage and the Franciscan Garden, to continue next to the Teatro degli Stati Generali, a splendid building dating back to the end of the 18th century which was the stage hosting the premiere of Mozart's Don Giovanni on 29 October 1787.
Continuing, our guide will accompany you to the beautiful Old Town Square, the heart of Prague and the scene of numerous historical events that have indelibly marked the history of the Bohemian capital.
The astronomical clock, the mysterious Gothic of the Church of the Virgin Mary, the sumptuous Baroque of St. Nicholas are just a few examples of the fusion of styles that will catapult you into a past that seems to have mocked time by still shining before our eyes.
The tour will continue inside the Jewish Quarter, once a tangle of dilapidated houses and which today represents one of the most elegant Prague neighborhoods. Passing through the places where the writer Kafka lived his restless youth we will go through the alleys where you can still breathe the cabal and the legend of the Golem seems to become reality.
We will then walk along the coronation street meeting the largest baroque building complex in Prague: the Clementinum monastery. Finally, through a labyrinth of narrow streets we will reach the true symbol of Prague: the Gothic Charles Bridge.
Afternoon: Castle - Mala Strana - Kampa Island - Charles Bridge
Our tour starts from Prague Castle, an imposing architectural complex that encompasses various styles and boasts more than a thousand years of history, the scene of mysterious events. The guide will accompany you through its immense courtyards, the royal gardens (open in spring and summer), inside the Cathedral of San Vito and (if the tour takes place in the afternoon) the Golden Lane.
Leaving the Castle, after enjoying the wonderful view over the city, we will go down to the Mala Strana (Lesser Town) district through Via Nerudova, with its sixteenth-seventeenth-century buildings that perfectly preserve the memories of a time now past.
We will thus reach the main square of the district: Malostranske Namesti. Here we will be able to admire the imposing church of San Nicola, the most significant example of baroque in Prague. We will then head to the Basilica of the Victorious Virgin, better known as the Church of the Child of Prague. Our guide will explain to you the reason why thousands of faithful go on pilgrimage every year to visit this place of worship.
The walk will continue through the alleys of the lower part of Mala Strana that will lead us to one of the symbolic places of the fight against the communist regime in the 80s, the John Lennon Wall, where you too can write your slogan of love or peace .
Crossing the Certovka Devil's Channel, a Venetian glimpse transported to Prague, we will reach Kampa Island.
The tour will end at the true symbol of Prague: the Gothic Charles Bridge.
